How to Order
To order directly from AstroNZ please contact us by one of the above methods and
include;

We will confirm the order with an invoice
which will include any shipping charges and payment instructions.
The goods will be shipped once payment is
confirmed.
Alternatively you can order from one of
our resellers below.
Payment
AstroNZ accepts payment
by Direct Credit (internet banking), Visa, Mastercard
or Cheque.
Full payment details will be provided
with your invoice.
Shipping
Orders for in-stock items are normally
shipped within 48 hours. AstroNZ normally ships small
items (accessories) by fastpost and larger items
(telescopes) by freighters. Lease note telescope are often large and bulky.
If you live in a rural area, pickup of
telescopes can be arranged at the local freight depot to minimise shipping
costs.
At this time we can only ship orders
within New Zealand.

Terms of Trade
Sales Tax
As required by
law, all products are subject to Goods & Services Tax (GST) of 12.5%, and
tax is collected on all orders sold in New Zealand. Taxes are calculated on
merchandise, shipping, and handling charges. All Prices are quoted inclusive of
GST.
One Year Limited Warranty
All
ASTRONZ products are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for
one full year from the original purchase date.
If you should
experience a problem with any ASTRONZ product, please contact
info@astronomy.co.nz for technical support by e-mail. In many cases, problems
can be diagnosed and corrected without sending the product back to us. If the
product must be returned for repair or replacement, we will issue a Return
Materials Authorization (RMA) Number.
Back-order Policy
Our system is
constantly updated and we strive to maintain an accurate listing of products
for sale. However sometimes, we do run out of specific products. Any items that
are found temporarily out of stock will be placed on back-order and shipped to
you as soon as we receive shipment from our suppliers. The wait period varies
depending on supplier shipments. You have the option of cancelling any
back-ordered items without incurring a cancellation fee at any time. All
back-ordered products will be shipped in the order they are received.
Cancelling an Order
You
may cancel your order at any time before it is shipped at no charge.
Product Selection
Determining
the compatibility of components or their fitness for their intended use is the
responsibility of the buyer. If you have questions about the usability of any
accessories with your telescope, we strongly urge you to contact Astronomy NZ
Ltd to confirm their compatibility before ordering.
Returns Policy
Within 7 days of receipt of your shipment
(including gifts), you may return any of the following items, for any reason,
for a full refund (we will also refund the shipping cost if the return is a
result of our error):
· Telescopes in new condition with
original packaging and all accessories
· Any Accessory in its original
condition with original packaging
No returns will be accepted without prior
authorisation and none will be accepted more than 7 days after receipt of the
merchandise. Factory defects are covered by the terms of the manufacturer?s
warranties and can only be exchanged for identical equipment. We do not accept
returns on books, star charts, closeouts, opened software, or special orders.
We cannot exchange items unless they are
defective or damaged. Items that are returned more than 7 days after delivery,
are in unsaleable condition, or are missing parts. You will be charged a
restocking fee at our discretion. We cannot accept items returned longer than
30 days after issue of an RMA Number.
Shipping Damage Claims
Shipping
damage must be reported to your delivering freight company within 48 hours of
delivery for a claim for replacement to be accepted. If you experience a
problem with the freight company handling your damage claim, please contact us.
Refunds
We will notify you
via e-mail of your refund once we have received and processed the returned
item. You can expect a refund in the same form of payment originally used for
purchase within 7 to 14 business days of our receiving your return. If
your return is not due to our error, we will deduct the shipping costs from
your refund.
Privacy &
Security
We respect your privacy. Any and all
information collected on this site will be kept strictly confidential and will
not be sold, reused, rented, disclosed, or loaned! Any information you give to
us will be held with the utmost care and will not be used in ways that you have
not consented to.
Any personal information that you may
submit will be used only for the purpose for which it is submitted. When you
enter the website we may also collect aggregate data for session management and
site development purposes.
Astronomy New Zealand strives to ensure
the security, integrity and privacy of personal information submitted to our
websites. Unfortunately, no data transmission over the Internet can be
guaranteed to be totally secure. Although we aim to protect your personal
information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information you may
transmit to us, or our transmissions to you. To ensure that your transaction is
safe and secure, please do not transmit your credit card details by e-mail.
We may collect and aggregate information
to develop our website, or to optimise website operation. In order to
continually enhance the site?s features, performance, and relevancy to you we
may collect certain information (such as your browser and platform type, and
the site you have come from) using cookies.
Other site data
such as how visitors use the site may also be collected to monitor site
performance and develop future enhancements. This data will generally be
grouped to measure trends. Where individual activity may be collected, this

record how long since you logged on to a community area and maintain your
